Big temperature drop by Friday, rain chances return for the weekend

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy and cooler. Lows in the low 30s.

FRIDAY: Partly to mostly cloudy. Highs in the upper 40s to around 50.

EXTENDED: Temperatures Friday will be about 10-20 degrees cooler than Thursday thanks to a cold front that is sweeping across the region. By Friday night, another warm front lifts north, bringing temperatures back into the 60s by Saturday. Precipitation will increase as this front approaches Mid-Missouri and continues into Saturday. A few thunderstorms will be possible with the associated cold front by Saturday night. Rain tapers off Sunday, leaving us with about 1" to 1.5" total precipitation. It's cooler again by Sunday into Monday with highs in the upper 30s and lower 40s. Next week is fairly quiet with seasonably warm temperatures.
