Above average temperatures continue despite rain Thursday

TONIGHT: Increasing clouds, chilly. Lows in the mid-30s.

THURSDAY: Partly cloudy with late day showers possible south of I-70. Highs in the mid-50s.

EXTENDED: Showers taper off overnight Thursday, leaving less than 0.25" of rain for areas south of I-70. Winds shift back north on Friday, bringing temperatures down briefly into the 40s for highs. The weekend remains dry with highs getting back into the lower 50s. An arctic air mass begins to spill in from the north Monday, bringing temperatures down from the upper 40s during the day. Precipitation moves in with a cold front, and could transition from rain to snow in the evening as cold air settles in. Temperatures Tuesday will only reach the mid-30s, with some places falling into the teens by Tuesday night.
