Rain returns for some overnight, chilly Friday

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain showers south of I-70. Lows in the low to mid-30s.

FRIDAY: Partly to mostly cloudy and chilly with highs in the low 40s.

EXTENDED: A closed area of low pressure is expected to track across Mid-Missouri late on Friday, bringing a chance for a few scattered showers and possible snow showers through the evening and overnight hours. Since temperatures have been warm this week and this system moves out fast, accumulation isn't expected. For the rest of the weekend, it will be chilly on Saturday with highs in the low 40s, warming back to near 50 by Sunday. Next week starts off mild with highs in the 50s, but rain could arrive as soon as Tuesday, and another potential chance for rain lies ahead for Thanksgiving.
