Rain moving into mid-Missouri tonight

THIS AFTERNOON: Clouds will continue to increase, but temperatures will continue to be stellar. Rain will likely move in later this evening.

TONIGHT: Rain looks to start taking over after 7 PM, with the best coverage toward midnight. A few rumbles of thunder are possible. Temperatures will be propped up overnight in the low to mid 50s with breezy southerly winds and plenty of cloud cover tonight.

EXTENDED: This rain should taper off by tomorrow afternoon but could return later Thursday night. This frontal boundary responsible for the initial wave of rain will attempt to stall out to our south. This opens the door to get a reinforcing shot of energy which could bring the return of rain and maybe a few snowflakes into Friday morning. The latest trends this morning are backing off the snow solution a bit more, but we'll be tracking this the next few days. Once we get a better idea of where the front will set up, we should have a better handle on the situation. After that, heading into the weekend will be another quiet one, but it will be cooler with highs in the mid 40s on Saturday, warming back into the 50s Sunday and Monday.
