Tracking a cold Sunday, brief warm up early next week

TONIGHT: Sprinkles and clouds before midnight, clearing and cold with lows in the lower to mid-20s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and chilly with highs in the mid-upper 30s.

EXTENDED: A low pressure system over the Great Lakes will send a fast moving cold front across Illinois into Missouri tonight, bringing a few clouds and perhaps a few sprinkles or flurries this evening. Clouds clear out later, leaving us with lows in the low to mid-20s with winds out of the northwest. Tomorrow will be sunnier as high pressure tries to settle in, but still a few degrees cooler than normal with highs only reaching the mid-upper 30s. We'll warm nicely early in the week with highs in the 50s Monday and Tuesday before a fast moving clipper system brings a cold front through between Tuesday night and Wednesday, dropping temperatures back to near 40 degrees for the rest of the week with a dry pattern expected through next Friday.
