Tracking a hot end to the week, toasty weekend ahead
TONIGHT: Mostly clear and mild with lows in the lower to mid-60s.
TOMORROW: Partly to mostly sunny and hot with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s.
EXTENDED: I'm tracking warmer temperatures by Thursday as upper high pressure begins to build overhead, sending temperatures into the lower 90s as a south breeze begins to pick up. Heat is strongest between Friday and Sunday with the upper high pressing even farther to our north, allowing temperatures to rise into the low to mid-90s. With a steady stream of Gulf moisture, we'll see slightly higher dew points through the weekend, yielding a heat index in the upper 90s. It's important to stay hydrated through the weekend and apply sunscreen despite a slightly lower UV index. The heat looks to stick around into next week, and we could see some pop-up showers and storms on Sunday and Monday as we see a bit more instability during the afternoons. We don't see much of a pattern change until late next week, so expect above average temperatures in the upper 80s to around 90 through much of next week.
