Tracking rain through late tonight, colder Thanksgiving

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with rain showers through late evening. Lows in the upper 20s.

TOMORROW: Clouds to start, becoming mostly sunny by afternoon with highs in the upper 30s. Winds gusting to 20 mph at times.

EXTENDED: Clouds stick around through early tomorrow morning, and there may be some lingering drizzle for areas near and south of I-44 to kick off the day, so we'll watch that region for any slick spots. Otherwise its a chilly and breezy Thanksgiving with highs in the upper 30s and more sunshine as we progress through the day. Friday is even cooler, but bright with highs near the mid-30s. Friday night, clouds start to move in ahead of a clipper system that will bring a quick hit of snow to Mid-Missouri early on Saturday. Snow showers look to begin before daybreak in our northern counties and move southeast through mid-late afternoon, bringing a dusting to 1" of snow to much of the area. The probability of 1" is around 30-40% for our area. Temperatures will fall to the teens on Saturday night, so we'll watch for isolated slick spots. Sunday is cold and sunny with highs near 30, and we'll likely see wind chills near 10 degrees Sunday and Monday mornings. Next week starts off chilly but dry, and we'll see a gradual warm up back to near average, around 50 degrees by mid-late week.
