Tracking potential for isolated to scattered storms the next few days

TONIGHT: Mostly clear, not as chilly. Lows in the mid-40s.

TOMORROW: Partly to mostly sunny and breezy with highs in the low 70s.

EXTENDED: Tonight won't be as chilly as lows fall into the mid-50s with a stronger south breeze. Tomorrow, strong south winds could gust up to 25 mph, sending us into the low to mid-70s. I'll be tracking low pressure moving in tomorrow afternoon and evening, and as low level winds ramp up, moisture also increases over Mid-MO. That could trigger a few storms by evening, but the severe risk will be low. Wednesday will be the warmest day of the week as a warm front lifts north, pushing highs into the mid-70s. There could be a few pop up storms by afternoon that could produce quarter size hail. The best chance for rain will be on Thursday along a cold front, but right now the severe risk is looking conditional on the timing of the front. The best coverage of widespread rain looks to be along and east of Highway 54. Rain amounts will add up to around 0.5 to 0.75". Behind the front, temperatures drop to the upper 50s on Friday as clouds clear out. The weekend will be cooler and set us up for a cooling trend as highs only reach the upper 40s to low 50s by Monday.
