Tracking warmer temperatures, daily rain chances

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and comfortable with lows in the mid-60s.

TOMORROW: Partly to mostly sunny with highs in the mid-upper 80s.

EXTENDED: It's been a gorgeous start to the week with temperatures in the lower 80s and lower humidity, and we can expect a fairly typical August week ahead with afternoon rain chances and temperature near average. Winds start to shift to the south over the next day or two, gradually increasing temperatures across the region. Tomorrow should reach the mid-upper 80s with a few more afternoon clouds due to the added moisture and instability. I've added a slim chance for afternoon spot showers/storms through Thursday before the pattern starts to become a bit more active toward the end of the week. Temperatures reach near 90 on Wednesday and Thursday and will be about 5 degrees cooler on Friday as a more robust cold front moves in from the west. Count on rain and thunderstorms during the day through Saturday morning as the front slides south. I am not seeing a signal for severe weather at this point, but we could end up with about 0.5" to 1" of rain. We'll clear out for the most part on Saturday afternoon with temperatures rebounding back into the upper 80s. We'll have a low chance for a few storms on Sunday as that front works back north and pulls in more warm and humid air, and temperatures look to get back into the 90s through early next week with heat indices in the mid-90s.
