Tracking a beautiful weekend

TODAY: The sun will be prominent today as many across the area will remain dry throughout the day. Counties north of I-70 have the chance to see rain showers this afternoon and evening, but these will have a minor impact on our Saturday as they will be weak by the time they reach mid-Missouri.

TONIGHT: Showers will leave the area, and lows will be comfortable in the mid 50s.

EXTENDED: Highs remain in the mid-70s for Sunday. Early next week, the jet stream begins to lift north, pulling in warmer, more humid air from the south each day. A warming trend will develop out of this shift, and by mid-week, temperatures will be nearing 90s degrees. Rain chances are unconvincing at this point, but late-week holds our best chance.
