Weather Alert Day: Heavy rain continues tonight before ice and snow take over

TONIGHT: Heavy rain and thunderstorms. Some could be strong with gusty winds. Flash flooding possible in some areas, especially flood prone zones. Rain transitions to freezing rain after midnight. Lows in the upper 20s.

SATURDAY: Wintry mix changes to snow by late morning into early afternoon. Snow accumulation between 1-3". Snow ends by early evening. Temperatures fall from the upper to lower 20s. Wind chills in the low teens.

EXTENDED: Slick roads are possible on Sunday with temperatures starting out in the low teens. We rebound back into the upper 30s to low 40s for the afternoon, and no precipitation is expected. Temperatures warm for Monday and Tuesday to near 50, but it looks like another active week with a few disturbances heading our way. Overall, precipitation chances remain low next week until we have a better idea of how the pattern will play out. Temperatures fall back into the 30s for highs on Thursday and Friday.
