TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with a few spot showers. Temperatures drop into the low 40s and rise overnight.

SATURDAY: Mostly cloudy with showers increasing by late afternoon. Thunderstorms possible by evening. Rain amounts between 1" and 1.5". Highs in the low 60s.

EXTENDED: A warm front lifting across the state overnight will actually warm temperatures back into the 50s by Saturday morning, and gusty southwest winds get us into the low 60s for highs. Showers and a few thunderstorms increase in coverage and intensity by Saturday afternoon and evening. As a cold front approaches, a few storms may become strong, but the overall severe threat is limited. Some storms may have gusty winds into late Saturday night. The main area of showers and storms moves east by Sunday morning, but there could be a couple of lingering showers into Sunday. Temperatures drop back off into the upper 40s to near 50 for highs. Next week starts off quiet and seasonable with highs in the upper 30s to low 40s. New Year's Eve looks dry and chilly with midnight temperatures right around freezing. Our next chance of rain holds off until Thursday.
