Tracking widespread rain returning Thursday

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with a few light showers late. Lows remaining near 70.

TOMORROW: Rain and a few storms like. Rain amounts around 1-2." Highs in the upper 70s.

EXTENDED: Clouds hold through the rest of the evening as warm temperatures stick around. Lows remain around 70 degrees ahead of a front that will bring widespread rain throughout the day Thursday, making for a wet morning and evening commute for many. Rain amounts will be on the higher end of the 1-2" range across northwest Mid-Missouri. Showers become more scattered on Thursday night as rain follows a southeastward sagging cold front. We may have a few lingering showers on Friday morning along with cloud cover, but the cold front will be south of us early in the day. Clouds slowly decrease, leaving us with late day sun and a north breeze keeping temperatures in the upper 60s to around 70. The weekend looks fantastic with highs near the low 70s on Saturday and Sunday with abundant sunshine. Lows fall into the lower 50s. Next week looks quite pleasant with northwest flow overhead, keeping mornings cool under surface high pressure as lows drop into the upper 40s to low 50s next Monday and Tuesday mornings.
