Tracking a warm afternoon, storms late tonight

THIS AFTERNOON: Partly cloudy and warmer, with highs in the upper 80s. Light showers are possible west of the area this afternoon, but we'll likely stay dry.

TONIGHT: Chances for showers and thunderstorms after midnight, with potential damaging winds and a low chance of flooding. Lows fall to the upper 60s.

EXTENDED: Heavy showers and storms continue through Wednesday morning, but activity becomes more isolated into the afternoon and evening. Over an inch of rain is possible for areas north of I-70 by the time rain ends Wednesday night. Aside from a few storms Friday night, the rest of the week looks dry and mild with highs in the 80s. Mostly dry weather is favored this weekend, but rain may return by late Sunday.
