Tracking scattered storms tomorrow and intense heat to start the week

TONIGHT: I'm tracking a slight chance for a scattered shower tonight, but most will stay dry. Expect temperatures to dip to the mid 70s among partly cloudy skies.

TOMORROW: Chances for a scattered shower become more widespread tomorrow afternoon, but nothing prolonged is in the forecast. Expect conditions to clear overnight. It'll be another hot one with temperatures in the low 90s, and heat indexes potentially reaching the triple digits.

EXTENDED: More heat is on its way on Monday, which looks to be the hottest day of the week. A warm front moving through the region means more moisture, which means more humidity. On top of temperatures in the low to mid 90s, heat indexes could reach as high as 105+ degrees. Make sure you've got plenty of water on hand, and avoid extended time outside. While this intense heat holds on into Tuesday, a cold front looks to move in just in time to cool things down. Temps will drop to the mid 80s on Wednesday and will hold there into the weekend, and much of the humidity will be cleared out. A slight disturbance on Thursday does give a reasonable (30-40%) chance for scattered showers and storms Thursday evening into Friday afternoon, but most of the rainfall should clear up by Saturday. Partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies are expected throughout the week.
