Tracking a nice start to the week, more rain on the way

THIS AFTERNOON: Bright and mild, with highs in the mid-70s. The UV Index reaches very high levels, meaning sunburn is possible in under half an hour.

TONIGHT: Skies remain clear, with lows falling to the upper 50s to low 60s.

EXTENDED: Grab an umbrella for Tuesday morning for a quick round of showers and rumbles of thunder, which could linger in the early afternoon south of Hwy 50. Highs climb to around 80 degrees with drier conditions by the end of the day. Wednesday is an ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day for the threat of severe storms in the late afternoon and evening, including the possibility of damaging winds, a tornado, and flooding. Rain will wind down early Thursday, and up to an inch of rain is expected by the end of the week. Drier weather is likely by Friday and possibly Saturday, before more rain chances heading into Sunday.
