Tracking storms late tonight, wet start to graduation weekend

TONIGHT: Warm and dry through midnight, then scattered showers and storms roll in late overnight. A few storms could be strong, bringing heavy downpours and lightning. Temperatures remain mild in the mid-60s.

TOMORROW: Scattered showers and storms in the morning, with dry time expected by the afternoon. Highs climb into the mid-80s with heavy humidity.

EXTENDED: Graduation will be soggy on Saturday with rain in the morning, but lots of dry time is expected late Saturday through Sunday, and temperatures climb to near 90 on Sunday afternoon, with a heat index in the low 90s. Heat continues through Monday, and an ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day has been issued for Monday night due to the threat of severe storms, which may also linger into Tuesday. Cooler and drier weather is favored by the middle of next week, with temperatures returning to near average in the 70s.
