Tracking a break from rain midweek

THIS AFTERNOON: Partly sunny and mild, with highs in the upper 50s and a light northerly breeze.

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy, with temperatures falling quickly into the 40s overnight.

EXTENDED: More sunshine is expected on Thursday, with lots of dry time and mild temperatures in the 60s. Chances for showers and a few afternoon thunderstorms will return on Friday, but temperatures continue climbing into the 70s. Saturday is sunny again, and warm in the low 80s, but another round of scattered showers is expected Saturday night into Mother's Day morning. Rain may clear up by Mother's Day afternoon, and highs remain mild in the 70s on Sunday.
