Tracking stubborn clouds this afternoon, storms tomorrow night

THIS AFTERNOON: Clearing clouds, with temperatures in the upper 60s and low 70s. Winds from the southwest will be steady at 5 to 15 mph.

TONIGHT: Clouds continue clearing overnight, and temperatures remain steady in the lower 60s.

EXTENDED: Tomorrow is warm, with highs nearing 80 under partly cloudy skies. Thunderstorms develop west of the area in the afternoon before spreading east. These are expected to weaken as they move toward Mid-Missouri in the late evening and early overnight. They may still be strong to severe in our western and central counties, with a risk of damaging winds. Storms exit quickly into Friday morning, with dry time in the afternoon, but more on-and-off storm chances continue into the weekend.
