Tracking hot temperatures tomorrow, severe storms midweek

TONIGHT: Showers winding down early, then mostly cloudy. Lows fall to the lower 60s.

TOMORROW: Partly cloudy and hot, with highs in the mid-80s. Southerly winds will be strong at 10 to 20 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph possible.

EXTENDED: An ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day has been issued for Tuesday and Wednesday for the possibility of severe storms. Scattered thunderstorms will develop on Tuesday afternoon and evening, moving west to east into Tuesday night. Rain will linger into early Wednesday, and another risk of severe storms may develop on Wednesday afternoon and evening as a cold front passes through the area. Storms on both days will be capable of all severe hazards, including damaging winds, large hail, and a few tornadoes. We'll get a break on Thursday, but strong storms will be possible again on Friday and Saturday as another cold front moves through. Temperatures remain in the 80s through Friday before cooling into the weekend.
