Tracking scattered showers tomorrow, strong storms midweek

TONIGHT: Mostly dry and cloudy, with temperatures falling into the low 60s. Winds from the south will be steady at 5 to 10 mph, with gusts up to 20 mph possible.

TOMORROW: Mild, with increasing chances of rain into the afternoon and evening. Temperatures remain warm in the mid-70s. Southerly winds will increase to 10 to 20 mph, gusting up to 30 mph.

EXTENDED: Stronger storms are possible early next week, leading to ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Days on Tuesday and Wednesday for the threat of all severe hazards. Conditions will be summer-like by Monday with highs in the 80s, but we stay dry with a few strong storms to our west in the Kansas City and St. Joseph areas. Tuesday will also start hot and dry, but severe storms could develop Tuesday evening, with a risk of all severe hazards Tuesday night into Wednesday. Severe storms will also be possible on Wednesday, depending on the speed of a cold front. The slower the front, the more chance we will see strong to severe storms on Wednesday. The severe threat exits later in the week, but daily storm chances continue with above-average temperatures.
