Tracking a slightly cooler Sunday with gusty winds

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and comfortable with lows in the lower 60s.

TOMORROW: Partly cloudy and windy with highs in the upper 70s.

EXTENDED: Tonight will be mild with lows in the lower 60s. We'll start out warm tomorrow with highs back into the upper 70s despite increasing clouds ahead of a southward approaching front that will bring chillier air for early next week. No rain is expected, but strong winds could kick up to 30 mph and elevate fire danger conditions through the afternoon. Behind the front, we're in the 30s on Monday morning as our upper pattern flattens out a bit for a few days. The upper ridge that brought us the warmth will strengthen yet again to push us back into the 70s by mid-week, approaching 80 on Thursday. By Thursday evening, a cold front at the surface will bring a chance at rain and storms, and I'm eyeing the amount of instability for even a low severe risk at this point. Behind the front, temperatures cool into the upper 50s by Friday into the weekend as skies clear out, and a cooler air mass settles in overhead.
