Tracking mild weather through tomorrow, high winds and snow on Sunday

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy and cool, with temperatures falling into the mid-30s. Winds will be much calmer at 5 to 15 mph.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and mild, with highs reaching the upper 60s and low 70s. Southerly winds will pick up to 10 to 20 mph.

EXTENDED: Conditions remain mild through Saturday, but an ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day has been issued for late Sunday and early Monday for the chance of high winds, blowing snow, and bitter cold. Rain will first arrive Sunday morning, with a few storms possible in the afternoon ahead of a cold front. Once this front moves through, precipitation will change to snow late Sunday. Blowing snow and poor visibility are possible Sunday evening with strong winds gusting up to 45 mph. We are most confident in these high winds above anything else. Cold air spills in on Sunday night, dropping lows into the teens Monday morning, with wind chills falling near or below zero. Highs remain in the 20s on Monday, and Tuesday will only improve to the 40s. However, another warmup to the 60s and 70s is expected by the middle of next week.
