Tracking a wet afternoon, more sunshine tomorrow

THIS AFTERNOON: Scattered showers through midafternoon, then drier by dinner. Temperatures cool into the 40s by the end of the day.

TONIGHT: Some will see the sunset as clouds pull out this evening, with clear skies overnight. Lows fall to the lower 30s.

EXTENDED: Sunshine returns on Thursday, warming temperatures into the 50s in the afternoon. Southerly winds will increase during the day, gusting up to 30 mph by Thursday evening. Breezy conditions are expected Thursday night and Friday morning as a system passes north of the area, but we remain dry. Winds will turn out of the north, but Friday is even warmer in the 60s, and temperatures could reach 70 degrees by Saturday. A system will swing through the area on Sunday, bringing a possible mix of rain and snow, but snow accumulations are expected to be light. Temperatures will briefly drop on Monday and Tuesday into the 30s and 40s, but another warmup is expected later next week.
