Tracking scattered thunderstorms tonight with small hail possible

TONIGHT: Storm chances increase this evening and overnight, with scattered storms possibly producing small hail at times. There is a low chance of an isolated severe storm with 1-inch hailstones. Temperatures fall into the 40s overnight as a warm front settles across southern Missouri.

TOMORROW: Widespread showers and storms are expected from midmorning through early afternoon, with a low risk of stronger storms producing high winds and hail near the Lake of the Ozarks and I-44. The greatest chance of severe storms will be south of I-44, outside our area. Temperatures warm into the 50s north of I-70, rising into the 60s further south.

EXTENDED: Thunderstorms continue along I-44 on Wednesday night, but this activity will finally shift east into Thursday morning. Thursday looks very mild with partly to mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 60s to around 70 degrees. Scattered showers and storms will return Thursday night into Friday morning as a warm front moves through the area, but rain chances decrease during the day Friday as warm air spreads over the region. Highs will climb to near 80 degrees in some spots on Friday afternoon with gusty southerly winds up to 30 mph. A cold front will then move in from the west on Friday night, bringing a risk of severe storms in western Missouri, where storms arrive earliest and will have more access to instability. Rain chances will decline steadily as the cold front exits Saturday morning, and the weekend looks dry and mild, with temperatures in the 60s.
