Tracking another spring-like day before winter weather Sunday evening

TODAY: I'm tracking a mild day ahead as temperatures start in the low 40s, warming into the upper 60s by the afternoon hours. Winds will begin in the south at 5-10 mph with gusts up to 15 mph, but a front passing during the afternoon hours will shift winds into the north at 5-10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph and bring the potential for scattered light showers.

TONIGHT: I'm tracking winds continuing to blow out of the north at 5-10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph as clouds briefly exit the area. These conditions will allow temperatures to drop into the low 30s by the end of the night.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking clouds making a return for Sunday morning ahead of a system potentially bringing brief travel impacts Sunday night through Monday morning. Before this, temperatures will warm into the low 40s as winds blow out of the northeast at 10-15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Precipitation will begin during the evening hours in the form of rain and snow that melts at the surface, but will transition into snow and isolated areas of freezing rain for some overnight throughout Monday morning. This is why an ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day is in effect. Impacts will not last long through Monday morning as temperatures quickly warm above freezing. Warmer temperatures in the 50s and 60s will gradually return throughout the week, but daily rain and thunderstorm chances will be expected Tuesday through Friday.
