Tracking warm, breezy weather before a weekend cooldown
TODAY: I'm tracking a cloudy but mild start to the day as temperatures walking out the door are in the mid-40s. Breezy southerly winds at 10-15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph will lead to temperatures warming into the upper 60s and low 70s by the afternoon hours, even with persistent cloud cover.
TONIGHT: I'm tracking clouds lasting throughout the night as breezy southerly winds at 10-15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph continue. A few spot showers and rumbles of thunder are possible during the evening and overnight hours, but most will stay dry and quiet.
EXTENDED: I'm tracking sunshine making a return for Wednesday morning as temperatures start in the low 50s, once again warming into the low 70s by the afternoon hours. This will be due to southwesterly winds at 10-15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph and sunshine during the day. Clouds will make a return during the evening hours ahead of a system bringing scattered showers during the morning hours of Thursday. Temperatures will still be allowed to warm into the upper 60s on Thursday before a more noticeable cooldown arrives on Friday. Friday afternoon, Central Missouri will only warm into the mid-40s, and this trend will last throughout the weekend and into next week. On Saturday, another system will move through the area, bringing a potential of mixed precipitation and flurries during the midday hours. Impacts during this time are expected to be held to a minimum, as any sort of accumulation is anticipated to be low.
