Tracking widespread rain tomorrow, sunshine by Sunday

TONIGHT: Increasing cloud cover, with temperatures in the 40s.

TOMORROW: Widespread showers, with temperatures in the low 50s. Rain totals will sharply increase from north to south, with a few tenths of an inch of rain possible in Macon, Moberly, and Paris. Areas near I-70 can expect between half an inch to an inch of rainfall. The highest totals will be along and south of Hwy 50, possibly including Jefferson City, where an inch of rain or more is expected.

EXTENDED: Another warming trend begins on Sunday, with temperatures rising back to the upper 50s and low 60s under sunnier skies. Highs will climb further into the 60s on Monday, then into the low 70s on Tuesday and Wednesday with gusty southerly winds, which could lead to a fire weather risk midweek. A disturbance late Wednesday into Thursday could bring rain and a few rumbles of thunder, setting off a cooling trend into next weekend.
