Tracking a few flurries and bitter cold by tomorrow

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with a few flurries, lows in the mid-single digits.

TOMORROW: Increasing clouds and cold with highs in the teens. Wind chills in the single digits with a few flurries possible.

EXTENDED: We'll see a few flurries tonight, but otherwise it's cold with lows falling into the single digits overnight as winds shift back to the north. Friday is our coldest day with highs only making the mid-teens with wind chills in the single digits during the day. Clouds increase area-wide by afternoon with a few light snow showers possible, but not likely. A Weather Alert Day will be in effect from Friday night through midday Saturday as lows fall to near zero with wind chills between -10 and -15 Saturday morning. Saturday will be about 20 degrees colder than normal as highs will make the upper teens to around 20. Sunday will bring a quick hit of light snow showers to northern Missouri, with a dusting possible through about lunch time north of I-70. We'll begin to warm back to the upper 20s on Sunday and 30s next week, getting back above freezing by Monday. Tuesday into Wednesday is the next target for precipitation, but with warmer temperatures in place during the day, determining precipitation type will be an issue.
