Tracking sunshine and a slight warm up for Tuesday

THIS AFTERNOON: Sunny and cold with highs in the mid-teens, wind chills in the low single digits.

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and cold with morning lows in the upper single digits.

EXTENDED: Bitter air hangs around today as temperatures only make the mid-teens, but a wind shift to the southwest will keep us above zero overnight with lows in the upper single digits. As this arctic high presses east on Tuesday, southwest winds will push temperatures into the upper 20s in the afternoon. Tuesday night will be cold with a weak front bringing a wind shift, dropping temperatures back into the low single digits Wednesday morning. Despite the cold start, Wednesday looks a little more pleasant with highs in the upper 30s. A colder air mass works in for the end of the week, particularly between Friday and Saturday as highs struggle to get to 20 degrees on Friday, with overnight lows dropping a few degrees below zero. Thankfully, the cold blast doesn't last long, with highs back to near freezing by Sunday.
