Tracking bitterly cold wind chills by tomorrow morning

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy and frigid with lows in the upper single digits. Wind chills between 0 and -10 by daybreak Monday.

TOMORROW: Decreasing clouds and cold with highs in the upper teens. Wind chills in the single digits.

EXTENDED: Bitterly cold air moves back into Mid-Missouri tonight as another cold front brings a reinforcing shot of frigid temperatures for tomorrow under strong northwest winds. Monday is quite cold as high pressure holds through the day, eventually sliding south by Tuesday and allowing winds to shift to the south and warm temperatures back to near our seasonal average. Wednesday will be the warmest day of the week with a southwest breeze and high pressure to our south, sending temperatures back into the 40s. A weak cold front moves in on Thursday, pushing us a few degrees colder into the 30s again. We're keeping a close eye on an active pattern at the end of the week, but forecast guidance doesn't have a great handle on how a strong cold front will interact with increasing moisture from the south. Solutions have been all over the place through the weekend, but behind this cold front it will be frigid again for next weekend with highs in the 20s and lows in the single digits to teens. If precipitation can make it this far north, we could potentially see snow accumulation somewhere in the state between Friday and Saturday.
