Tracking a big early week warmup
THIS AFTERNOON: Sunny and mild, with highs in the upper 40s and low 50s. Winds from the southwest will be sustained at 5 to 15 mph, with gusts up to 20 mph possible. A light fire danger is present over the Ozarks due to those winds and dry fuels.
TONIGHT: Temperatures fall into the 40s after sunset, with lows dropping to the upper 30s late overnight. Winds will relax in the early evening and remain calm from the southwest.
EXTENDED: Some clouds are forecast for Tuesday, but temperatures will be warm, around twenty degrees above average in the upper 50s. A cold front arriving Tuesday night will bring a round of light rain and cooler temperatures midweek, with Wednesday starting out in the 40s in the early morning, then falling to the 30s in the afternoon. Rain totals will be next to zero, with many staying dry. We're stuck in the 30s on Thursday, but we nudge closer to 40 degrees on Friday. Another cold front will bring much colder air over the weekend, with highs in the 20s on Saturday, and potential below-zero wind chills on Sunday morning. A few rounds of light snow are possible with this cooldown, but totals look low.
