Tracking a few showers, big cool down tomorrow
TONIGHT: Scattered showers and perhaps a few rumbles of thunder. Lows in the upper 30s to low 40s with gusty winds up to 30 mph.
TOMORROW: Mostly cloudy and chilly with highs in the upper 40s. A few rain or snow showers late tomorrow night.
EXTENDED: The main cold front is still well out to our west, meaning we'll still remain mild into the evening with a strong south breeze and a few scattered showers possible. Storms are firing up again along the front out in Kansas, but the severe threat into the evening is looking low after the sun goes down and we lose even more of the limited instability we had this afternoon. Tomorrow will be chillier with morning temperatures hovering around 40, and only topping out into the upper 40s. Clouds stick around, and another quick hit of light precipitation is possible late Friday night. There's a chance some of those rain showers could change over to snow showers by daybreak when temperatures are near freezing Saturday morning, but I'm not expecting accumulation or impacts. Sunday is cold and sunny with temperatures remaining below average in the mid-30s. Next week starts off mild as upper winds briefly shift, but another clipper system slides in from the northwest and brings a chance at a few showers or snow showers Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. From there, we'll be chillier with temperatures around our seasonal average to continue the rest of the week.Â
