Tracking a warm Friday afternoon, big cooldown late tomorrow

THIS AFTERNOON: Sunny and warm, with a high near 70. Winds from the west may gust up to 20 mph.

TONIGHT: Mostly clear overnight, but clouds roll in before sunrise. Lows drop to the 40s.

EXTENDED: Saturday will be cloudy and mild with highs in the 60s. A few spotty sprinkles are possible by late morning, with more isolated showers expected in the afternoon. Mizzou fans will likely remain dry at Faurot Field, as measurable rain remains north of the area. Temperatures will nosedive on Saturday night after the passage of a cold front, with lows plummeting to around freezing early Sunday. Highs are stuck in the 30s on Sunday and Monday under stout northerly winds, and lows will drop even further to the lower 20s both nights. A quick rebound is expected by Tuesday as highs jump back to the 50s and 60s the rest of next week.
