Tracking gusty winds, mild Thursday

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and cooler with lows falling into the upper 30s to around 40.

TOMORROW: Warm and breezy with winds gusting to 25 mph. Highs in the mid-60s with clouds increasing by afternoon.

EXTENDED: Tonight, winds ease and skies remain mostly clear, allowing lows to dip into the upper 30s. Tomorrow will warm up with gusty winds shifting back south up to around 25 mph. A warmer breeze will get us back into the mid-60s after a warm day. Clouds increase ahead of yet another front tomorrow night, keeping Friday morning temperatures in the lower 50s. We could see a few showers and rumbles of thunder between late Thursday night and Friday morning. Clouds gradually clear Friday, allowing temperatures to bounce back into the upper 60s to end the week on a warm note. A stronger area of low pressure approaches on Saturday, increasing clouds, but it still looks mild with highs in the lower 60s. We could have a few showers toward late afternoon/evening, especially north of I-70. An arctic blast sets in as this Canadian air mass filters in from the north, pulling temperatures down toward the freezing mark by Sunday morning. If there's any lingering precipitation on Saturday night, a few flurries across northern Missouri wouldn't be shocking. Sunday will be clear and cold with highs struggling to get much warmer than 40 degrees. Sunday night will be the coldest of the season so far with lows dropping into the lower 20s. Monday morning wind chills will be in the upper teens with highs only making the low 40s under a cold high pressure system. An upper ridge will begin to nudge warmer air in our direction by mid-week, with temperatures approaching 60 again by next Wednesday.
