Tracking a chilly Thursday morning before warmer air returns by the weekend

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and chilly with lows in the lower 40s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and cool with highs in the lower 70s.

EXTENDED: With high pressure in control, we'll continue to see clearing overnight with lows dropping into the low 40s. We may have some spots in low lying areas dip to the upper 30s locally, with some steam fog near lakes and rivers. Tomorrow looks great to get outside yet again with highs in the lower 70s. We'll begin to see more cloud cover between late Thursday night and Friday ahead of a front parking to our north. Areas west of Highway 63 could pick up a few showers and/or rumbles of thunder early in the day, but we'll see some late day sunshine poking through to get temperatures back to the upper 70s. The front will keep some clouds around on Saturday, but expect a warm start to the weekend as temperatures rise into the upper 70s. Sunday is hotter with that front lifting north of us and winds from the south sending highs into the mid-80s. We'll be on the edge of upper high pressure between the weekend and early next week, with a few disturbances rolling through. Another front could bring a shot at rain on Monday into Tuesday, but amounts look to stay under 0.5". We'll hold onto much above normal temperatures until next weekend when cooler air tries to move back in.
