Tracking cool nights and warm days through the weekend

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and cool with patchy fog in low lying areas. Lows in the lower to mid-50s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and mild with highs near 80.

EXTENDED: Lows fall into the low to mid-50s with some patchy fog, especially in low lying areas or river valleys. We'll reach to near 80 by tomorrow afternoon. We'll warm into the mid-80s this weekend as high pressure begins to build, with that pattern holding through most of next week. We may see an increase in cloud cover by mid-late week as a potential tropical system could swing into the Carolinas, but impacts are looking limited for our area. We'll continue to see above average temperatures through late week, with a chance of showers by next Sunday.
