Tracking scattered storms tonight, repeated rounds this week

TONIGHT: Scattered showers and storms with lows in the lower 60s. Rain amounts around 0.5" to 1".

TOMORROW: Rain exiting to the southeast fairly early, becoming partly sunny with highs in the upper 70s to around 80.

EXTENDED: As a slow moving low pressure system works across the Great Lakes region, rounds of rain and storms will be possible as a cold front stalls out early in the week. The first wave of storms will press east/southeast tonight, bringing the potential for gusty winds up to 50 mph and heavy rain with small hail in a few storms. Storms look to exit before dawn for much of Mid-Missouri, with morning temperatures in the lower 60s. Monday is looking largely dry, but a slow moving front looks to set up across Mid-MO between Monday night and Thursday, bringing rounds of rain and storms. We'll be cooler in the wake of rain this week, with highs in the 70s from Tuesday on. The front looks to slide to the east between Thursday night and Friday, allowing rain to come to an end and temperatures to bounce back into the upper 70s under sunshine over the weekend. Overall rain amounts will range from 1-1.5" along and north of I-70, with 2-3" along and south of Highway 50 between tonight and the middle of the week.
