Tracking a warmer Tuesday ahead of possible storms Wednesday evening

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with a spot shower possible. Lows in the lower 60s.

TOMORROW: Partly sunny with a spot shower or storm, highs in the upper 70s.

EXTENDED: Clouds hang on as a slow moving low pressure system works across the region tonight into tomorrow, keeping overnight lows in the 60s. Dry air continues to hold for tomorrow, limiting much rain around Mid-Missouri. We'll be warmer with highs reaching the upper 70s to low 80s between Tuesday and Wednesday. A cold front moves through the region on Wednesday afternoon and evening, bringing a chance for showers and storms. Rain amounts look to stay under 0.5", but a few storms could be on the stronger side on the western side of the state where there's a bit more instability to work with. Still, wind shear is lacking so widespread severe is not expected. Behind the front, temperatures drop to the low 50s on Thursday morning with cooler air settling in for the end of the week. Highs reach the low 70s on Thursday, rebounding a bit on Friday despite another largely dry frontal passage on Friday. The weekend looks excellent with highs in the upper 70s and lows in the upper 40s to around 50 through Monday morning. The start of next week looks comfortable, but we could be in for some warmer temperatures closer to average in the mid-80s by the middle of next week.
