Tracking storm chances with a mid-week cooldown

TONIGHT: Overnight lows cool to the mid-70s with chances of scattered showers and storms lasting into the deeper overnight hours. Moderate downpours and gusty winds remain the primary threats.

TOMORROW: Tuesday welcomes scattered showers and storm chances primarily into the early am hours. Moderate brief downpours and gusty winds remain the primary threats as a cold front passers through the regions. Areas along and southeast of Highway 54 see triple digit heat index values possible as areas to the northwest will cool quicker creating a spread of cooler temperatures for the afternoon highs.

EXTENDED: Things start to dry out throughout the rest of the week as temperatures fall into the mid to lower 80s thanks to winds out of the northwest caused by a high pressure system across the western United States. This leaves plenty of sunshine throughout the rest of the week into the weekend.
