Tracking dangerous heat into the weekend with a cooldown next week
TONIGHT: Overnight lows cool to the mid-70s as skies remain mostly clear.
TOMORROW: Saturday welcomes increasing temperatures up to 97 degrees and dew points into the lower 70s resulting in the issuance of an ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day lasting through Sunday afternoon. Heat index values can reach up 106 degrees Saturday. Skies remain mostly sunny with a slight chances for a few spotty pop-up late afternoon storms that would die-off after sunset.
EXTENDED: Sunday remains hot with highs into the mid to upper 90s and heat index values up to 107 degrees. Skies remain mostly sunny. Monday welcomes warm temperatures with the heat index up to 104 degrees and mostly sunny skies. Tuesday will see scattered showers and storms lasting overnight into Wednesday morning. This will end the above average heat streak and cool highs into the mid to lower 80s by the second half of next week.
