Tracking evening spotty storm chances before a hot weekend
TODAY: Tuesday is mild with rain chances once again. Spotty to scattered afternoon storms will be possible, especially along and south of a line from Sedalia to Mexico. Our best chances will come nearest I-44. Highs are expected in the mid-80s with enough humidity to feel like 90s.
TONIGHT: Tuesday's rainfall will be on the east side of a passing wave in the atmosphere that should take away our nightly surge of low-level winds that had been driving storm chances. This should allow us to dry and clear out overnight. Temperatures are near 70 at sunrise Wednesday.
EXTENDED: Wednesday appears mostly dry and sunny. This will come with some mild air with highs in the mid-80s and again enough humidity to feel like 90s. The heat starts to climb into the weekend, with upper 80s on Thursday, and 90s Friday through Sunday. Heat indexes are likely near 100 Friday through Sunday. Rain chances return at the end of the weekend and beginning of next week, offering some chances of relief.
