Tracking a steady climb in temperatures

TODAY: Heat is making a comeback with temperatures today reaching the mid to upper 80s in some areas. We remain mostly sunny today with a soft easterly wind.

TONIGHT: Tonight might be the last "cool" night as we look forward to temperatures dipping into the mid 60s. It'll be a mostly clear night as well, with a continuation of that easterly wind.

EXTENDED: There's not much activity in the atmosphere that would allow for temperatures to remain cooler than average. Winds will also shift to the south over the next couple of days, bringing lots of heat and moisture back up to our area. The expectation within the next couple of days would be for temperatures and heat index values to rise. Beginning Thursday and lasting until about Saturday, heat index values could range anywhere from 97 to 101. We could have a chance for a slight cooldown by a couple of degrees thanks to the storm chances we have as we enter into Sunday.
