Tracking a nice start to the week before heat returns

TONIGHT: Mostly clear with some river valley fog developing overnight. Lows in the lower 60s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny with an isolated shower or two possible. Highs in the lower 80s.

EXTENDED: The beautiful weather we've experienced all weekend will continue into early next week as temperatures remain below average. Rain chances are looking low for the extended time frame as we'll remain under northwest upper flow to start the week and just underneath the main storm path as upper high pressure builds just to our west this week. As winds begin to shift more southwesterly by Thursday into Friday, heat builds, sending highs back into the 90s. Moisture also returns to the region as dew points climb back into the 60s to near 70, pushing heat index values into the upper 90s by the end of the week into the weekend. The weekend is looking rain-free, hot and humid for now with rain chances potentially returning after that.
