Tracking scattered overnight storms across the northwest

TONIGHT: Overnight scattered showers and storms remain across northwestern portions of Mid-Missouri as a cold front sets up. Most of these showers and storms remain along and north of I-70. An areal flood watch remains across portions of northern Missouri as high rainfall totals remain possible. Some isolated storms could bring some gusty winds. Lows cool to the mid-70s.

TOMORROW: Friday welcomes afternoon highs into the lower 90s as the heat index climbs into the triple digits for areas south of I-70 thanks to more clearing. Areas north will remain just below 100 degrees for the heat index with spotty storm chances.

EXTENDED: Saturday welcomes mostly sunny skies with an isolated pop-up storm or two. Most of the region remains dry with highs into the lower 90s. An ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day has been issued from Sunday through Tuesday afternoon as the heat index looks to surpass 105 degrees each day. Monday looks to be the warmest day with the heat index possibly reaching up to 108 degrees. A cool down will start to begin Wednesday with more chances of late week showers and storms.
