Tracking dangerous heat through the weekend

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and humid with lows in the upper 70s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and humid with highs in the lower 90s and heat index values between 100-103. Gusty winds from the south up to 30 mph.

EXTENDED: The heat has settled in as highs have risen to about 90 area wide with a heat index hovering between 98-100. Tomorrow is slightly hotter but breezy as highs reach the low to mid-90s with a heat index between 101-103. We'll see  a strong south breeze up to 30 mph at times as high pressure continues to strengthen overhead. We'll see slightly lower humidity on Sunday, but still high enough dew points to reach between 98-100 for the heat index. Next week looks similar as this high pressure very slowly expands east, and we don't see the upper pattern break down or weaken until the end of the week, with a chance for a few storms between Thursday and Friday of next week.
