Tracking a sunny and warmer rest of the week

TONIGHT: The low pressure system that has been threatening our area with storms has moved far east. This leaves our area mostly clear overnight with temperatures bottoming out near the mid to upper 60s.

TOMORROW: Temperatures will start their ascent tomorrow, peaking out around the lower 90s. The lack of clouds will provide for a very bright day, consider using sunscreen as the UV index will remain in those higher 7-9 values.

EXTENDED: A high pressure system will settle over most of the Midwest region. This will create a stable atmosphere over the next week, blocking out a lot of chances for storms or even heavy cloud coverage. As a result, the sun has a lot of opportunity to warm up our atmosphere, and temperatures will begin to climb to the mid 90s. By this weekend, expect sunny conditions and extreme UV index values. Remain hydrated and use sunscreen, as conditions will begin to mimic a heatwave. Humidity levels will also add a couple degrees to our heat index, causing the atmosphere to feel sticky and the temperature to feel warmer. This warming pattern lasts through most of the week, just in time for the official first day of summer tomorrow.
