Tracking humid air, more clouds and a few storms Thursday

TONIGHT: Increasing clouds with mild temperatures in the mid-upper 60s.

TOMORROW: Mostly cloudy with isolated showers and storms. Highs in the low to mid-80s.

EXTENDED: We can expect a warmer and more muggy night as low pressure moves in from the southwest and lingers over the region through Friday. We could see some isolated to scattered showers and storms Thursday, but some areas may stay rain-free all day given the lack of rain coverage. We'll be cooler on Friday with the low overhead, keeping highs in the upper 70s to around 80. This will mark our best shot at rain and storms, but severe weather isn't expected. A few storms Friday through the weekend could produce locally heavy rainfall. Saturday and Sunday look warmer as winds hold from the south/southwest, and forcing for more organized storms will be to our south. That said, we'll have a chance for isolated storms both days, particularly in the afternoon. Highs reach the mid-upper 80s through the weekend. Next week starts off warm on Monday, with a better chance at storms on Tuesday as our next system approaches. We could continue the active pattern into the end of the week as a deeper low pressure system works east across the Plains and moves in our direction. Wind shear looks a bit more favorable over that stretch for stronger/severe storm potential, but we'll continue to watch for more consistency from day to day.
