Tracking the return of rain late tonight, weekend warm up

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with light rain moving in after midnight. Lows in the upper 50s.

TOMORROW: Rain likely and cool with highs in the upper 60s.

EXTENDED: Clouds return this evening, and showers arrive ahead of a cold front after midnight. Rain continues throughout the day, adding up to about 0.25-0.5". Most of the rain falls before the evening commute, allowing us to warm into the upper 60s to about 70. Friday into the weekend look excellent as surface high pressure builds in. We'll still be in the northwest upper flow, so there could be a rogue shower or two, but rain chances are looking slim as highs get into the 80s starting Saturday. Heat and humidity ramp up next week with temperatures increasing into the upper 80s and dew points creeping into the 60s. I have added chances for rain and storms to Tuesday and Wednesday as ingredients are coming together for an active pattern returning to the region.
