Tracking Friday afternoon potential strong to severe storms

TONIGHT: Overnight lows cool to the lower 60s and upper 50s as a dry cold front passes through resulting in partly cloudy skies.

TOMORROW: Friday begins dry and mostly sunny as highs top out into the mid-80s. An ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day has been issued from Noon-5PM Friday afternoon. A cold front looks through pass through the region bringing with it the possibility of strong to severe storms to southeastern portions of Mid-Missouri. Most of Mid-Missouri remains completely dry Friday. But areas along and just to the northwest of I-44 could see scattered storms chances. The exact location of where storms look to begin remains slightly uncertain. If storms begin later into the evening hours, the threat will miss the I-44 corridor and move just to the east towards St. Louis. The primary threats for these storms includes damaging winds, large hail, and a possibility of a tornado.

EXTENDED: Saturday looks to be mostly sunny with highs into the upper 70s and lower 80s. Sunday welcomes scattered shower and storm chances lasting through Tuesday of next week. Strong to severe storms remain possible Monday and Tuesday. Highs begin into the upper 70s next week.
